A good reason to upgrade would be crash standards.
Stuff built the last 5 years or so and newer is so much safer, especially side air bags and front offset crash structure upgrades.
Yes-your points are well made and can't be argued.

You have certainly been giving a lot of advice for someone who has not owned a car.I'm really hoping the car market settles down. I'm trying to buy my first car.
The improvements are true, but I think driver skill and training has a far greater impact on the overall outcome. Better drivers won’t need to rely on those safety nets to begin with. The key is to learn how to avoid those situations than to become reliant on those things.A good reason to upgrade would be crash standards.

Not really. I hardly give advice, and when I do, I make sure I'm confident in it. That's irrelevant. You have certainly been giving a lot of advice for someone who has not owned a car.

To a degree, but, I'll take the extra protection in newer vehicles, for me and my family. The improvements are true, but I think driver skill and training has a far greater impact on the overall outcome. Oh yeah, that's a perspective i did not seeTrue. But what price is safety? My only reason for buying new these days is safety, given how badly ppl drive ,esp in Phila . All my “old” cars are perfect in every way but for safety. Every time I get in to drive, I ask myself “will I get hit today ?” Giant pups, especially.
It’s not like I’m making up stories . Most of my posts are from my own threads, which are seeking advice. Or posts about BMWs. Go through all of my postsI would hope you are confident about what you say.
However, that doesn't mean others should trust simply because you are confident.
After all, do you trust everyone who posts here?
It doesn't change my point. It’s not like I’m making up stories . Most of my posts are from my own threads, which are seeking advice. Or posts about BMWs. Go through all of my posts
