Is Dailymotion just a scam app

Many videos I would watch on Roku or prime seem to leave those platforms and end up remaining on dailymotion

Historically dailymotion was a scam YouTube ripoff that would quickly infest you with viruses and spyware.

I have read this has changed, is anyone familiar with this site? I notice their apps have all disappeared from Roku, lg and other smart streaming stores.

Not sure I want to risk casting a stream series carried on daily motion to a smart tv if it’s still a semi dangerous site.

It was very popular 15 years ago before Google bought YouTube. Since then Google injected millions in YouTube making dailymotion unable to compete. Like Vimeo the site still lives somehow by providing services to professionals and having a huge historical collection.

sometimes its not the site that is scammy
but they dont look at their ads good enough and you can get malvertising. (malware embedded advertising)
