Is a hybrid right for my commute?

I went back and read you original post to see how big your commute is (120 miles one way), are you still doing that commute? That’s around 1,100 miles a week, give or take!

Edit — I went back and did the math, it’s 120 a day, probably 25,000 a year. Still a good amount of commuting though.

Keep us updated on how your Camry performs and handles those miles. Congratulations on your new car. Best of luck with it!
Yeah it’s about 125 round trip depending on which route I take. I work shift work, so in a 2 week period I only work 7 days. Now usually once a year we’ll do a 60 day turnaround at work then I’m working 14 on 1 off. That’s when I really rack up the miles quickly.

So here's what my commute looks like... 15 miles of back roads @ 60mph till I get to the interstate, then 40 miles on interstate @ 70 mph, then I exit the interstate and drive 10 miles of city streets @ 55 mph. So that's 120 miles one way.
Ok, admitting I haven't read 10 pages so maybe covered, but how does 15+40+10 equal 120? Has the OP come back in the 10 pages and updated choice and outcome?

120 round trip. I stated that before. Sorry for the confusion.

You are going to spend this much to save that much.
He’s averaging 30 mpg over his last vehicle and he’s driving 600 miles a week. He bought the Camry used, and most likely sold or traded in his pickup truck - I didn’t do the math but I imagine he’s saving quite a bit of money here.
