Is 9 or 10 threads going into iron block enough for 60lb ft?

I'll skip all the unnecessary. 12MM X 1.25 bolt.. Will about 09-10 threads of the head bolt threads going into iron block be good enough for about 60 ft lbs of torque?
 
As a 40 year machinist that had made hundreds of thousands of threads, yes. Believe it or not 1 and a half threads is enough to take the full amount of torque of any bolt.
 
An old tanker Sarge once told me three threads will hold the world if the bolt is big enough.
And an old Bosun's Mate told me three half hitches would hold a battleship if the rope was thick enough.
I don't know, I just blew things up for a living.
