Can i use the above oil for my 2 years old Honda (1.6) clocking 44,000km mileage. Been using 0w-20 and 5w-20, weather is hot and humid averaging betwee 32 to 36 degress ct. Or should I use 5w30 instead but undersytand this vicosity is not shear stable as compare with 10w30. please advise and thanks.

It should be fine on 5W-20 so even if using 5w30 it is more than enough protection for that engine, 10w30 is not what you need.

5w30 can safely replace 5W-20 in most circumstances, it is hot enough there to use 10w30 but at a fuel mileage penalty.

I wouldn't worry. 5W-20 or 5w30 are perfectly fine.

44,000km? 2 years old? That's still just being broken in!

any 20 or 30 weight should be good for your Honda.

ok, 30 weight should be good enough to protect but how about cold starting, should I use 5w or 10..

Mix the 5w20 and the 5w30 in a 50/50 mix. End of problem. Its what I do on my vehicle that specs 5w20. I think that it gives a little more protection without that much, if any, fuel mileage penalty.

Iam going aginst the grain here, but 10w30 would be a excellent choice, it has proven itself a good performing oil. It is not too thick. You fuel milelage would remain the same or change very little in that warm climate and the 10w30 would offer more protection in the heat.

thanks for all the reply, am using a....l fully syn 10w30. BTW, is it a marginal difference in "ccs" between 5w and 10w.

+1

Mobil product info used to say Mobil 1 10w30 is for older models maybe that's why cavili asked that, since his Honda isn't old yet that's no reason to change grade. Also, compared to northern climates, hot temps in this climate are good for oil and engines, and synthetic isn't needed. Conventional 5w30 is my pick, or synthetic if you're changing oil only once or twice a year.
