Me too!! I keep 50% spread out and try to chase hot spots with the other 50%. Up 16% for the year. Not a home run, but I'll take it.

I honestly can't figure out what to do. I don't like to buy at near market tops like this, but momentum seems to still be upward. My Metastock indicators show an overbought condition, but they can stay like that for a long time.

On Friday I signed up for a free Virtual Portfolio where they give you $100,000 to play with. I bought 23 stocks and used an arbitrary Commission of $7, AKA ScotTrade. This looks like a good way for me to try out various ideas. So far, I'm up $567. I had SUN but sold it at a small loss this morning and replaced it with DOX. Don't know how long I'll continue this, but it looks interesting so far.
I barely have time to manage 1/2 my portfolio - so zero time for play! That would have been great 10+ years ago. Oh wait a minute I didn't have time then either.

What happened to the "sticky"?
I was stopped last week out of more than half my position in GE.
I bought some more UNH on the CEO's resignation. I don't consider compensation tomfoolery as cooking the books. I could be wrong.

Groucho, Merill Lynch cut GE to neutral from buy today. It dosen't matter whether they're right or wrong, the stock takes a tumble regardless.....
I sold my GE a while back, picking up about half the move. Seems I always get scared out of a stock and sell too early.
So far I'm up about 20%, best year ever.

I scored on GRE. They are doing a NAV buy back! Since it's trading at (and I bought at) a discount and no brokerage fee (only a 0.09% fund fee) - this is a NICE score.
Hit 12050 and pulled back to just under 12K. My kind of market. Buy low, sell high. I'll make money this week.
Glad you are happy. I liked it better when the bloody NASDAQ was up 20+ not DOWN......er....8+.
Bought some AAPL last week, doubled down on the dip yesterday. Looks like I guessed right.

I owned Petrochina a few years ago. OK company, I guess. I haven't studied the charts or fundamentals on it lately.
