Hello,

My name is Joe I am a 19 year old college student that resides in Downtown Manhattan. I own a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland with a few mods done to it and up until the last 4 oil changes, the Jeep always used Mobil 1 oil. One day I decided to pick me up some Royal Purple and I used that ever since. I went to pick up some more RP today for its oil change and they did not have any instead, I picked up some Pennzoil Platinum (5-20). Is this a good oil to use for my HEMI or should I return it and go get me some more Royal Purple?

Thank You

-Joe

While I personally prefer RedLine, given your choices, I would stay with Royal Purple. Now I'll sit back and catch "heck" from all the PP guys

+1. No need for anything more!

Royal Purple is a great oil. I ran it in my 04 HEMI Ram and am now using it in my 08 HEMI Ram. It is a very good choice. So is Pennzoil Platinum though. I would prefer the RP to the PP myself but if you have a hard time finding RP then PP is a very good option for you. Less $$$ as well. Another very good synthetic to consider if it is available to you is Kendall GT1.

I would use the PP. RP shears down in many UOA I have seen. The RP is not bad, just don't think it's worth anywhere near the price it asks, it's a lot of marketing hype. JMO.
