The oils used so far were 5W30 Toyota bulk (no noise), 5W20 Toyota bulk (this is when the noise started), 5W30 Valvoline (no change in noise), 10W30 Pennzoil (no change in noise), and finaly 0W30 GC (no change in noise).
I recently added the Lubegard Biotech additive (supposedly full of esters) and after a week of evaluating I'm sure the noise is actually worse. I'm thinking this is all about oil viscosity at room temp, and Biotech lowered it some. So much for esters.
I may need to try molly additives in the next OCI.
