Interested in Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-20?

Actually I was just glad, when I read ExxonMobil is bringing back Mobil 1 0w20.

I think part of the problem is they already have a 0w20/5w20 that meets the Ford/Honda specifications. Either product is EXCELLENT. While the EP product is excellent for those vehicles that can run it, having three products might canabalize on their own sales.

I am not sure of the recommended OCI's for the F150 Ford product, but on the Honda Civic product, it is 10,000 normal and 5,000 severe. (with conventional oil no less) I use the normal cycle and the 0w20 product and would have no qualms going 15,000-20,000 miles OCI's once the meager warranty mileage is up.

That's part of the reason I'd like to use an oil designed for 15,000 mile service.

I hope it is better than the old 0W20 which was in reality a 5W20 grade.
I found it quite ironic that their own 0W40 grade let alone their 0W30 had significantly lower Cold Cranking Viscosities than the 0W20!

I'm not really interested in 0W-20. I'll stick with regular Mobil 1 5W-20 if no EP surfaces.

AHC, just curious, why no interest in Mobil 1 0w-20 when the Mobil 1 5w-20 is soooooo close to the 0w-20's spec's?

I asked Mobil if they are planning on developing a 5W-20 version of their EP oil because I'd like to use it in my 2001 F150. The following was their response:

Mobil currently does not have any plans to market this viscosity at this time however, your comments will be passed on.

I guess because I like the smaller viscosity spread. I don't see the need for a 0W-20 in Seattle. Just doesn't get cold enough. I used Mobil 1 0W-20 before 5W-20 was released and it worked great. Even did a couple of used oil analysis

Where are you folks hearing this? I tried a search here for 0W-20 and didn't get any hits related to 0W-20 or 30 being re-released.
