Inquisitive about timing chain for 06 Camry?

My Camry in signature with the 2.4L has 105,433 miles on it as I parked it this morning after getting some groceries. Wondering if there is a proper maintenance time/interval for this year & motor Camry with a timing chain? Any known issues from any Camry owners past/present would also be helpful please. Plan on driving the dickens out of this car this year!!

While ours is an 02, we are at 252K miles without drama.

The correct interval is to run it until it begins making death noises, then replace the faulty guides or tensioner. As an extra measure of caution, replace the chain too.

At some point the chain would stretch to the point where the crank and cam position sensors would not agree and throw a code. That doesn't seem very common on these particular engines.

I would check it at 200k...then think about it for another 100k...then trade the car in. BTW, I have a Rav4 with that engine...never an issue.

"very common" = never.

Yes - they'll either start rattling around or throwing codes when they get worn ... and then, it's still at least 6 digits of mileage before anything will fail.

By that time, the rest of the vehicle is probably worn out.

Some S/n run of the 2AZ engines eat cyl head bolts then HG, IIRC. Ours ('05rav 4) ate the cam buckets running Havoline and MC5k with Japanese Toyota/lexus oil filters and rigorous <5KOCI. The rear shock were toast at 55K also.

...this is not a good practice... i.e. wondering about what ain't happenin', a common occurrence here....
Unless you're hearing a lot, and I mean a LOT, of rattlin' after warm-up...then you can consider replacing the chain and tensioner....

A worn timing chain, or timing chain hardware would be the only reason to replace it. There is no scheduled interval for replacement.

You would know if your timing chain is worn if the engine is making terrible noises, and you hold an automotive stethoscope to your timing cover to locate that noise.
