Some seem to relate higher Pb readings with some cleaning agents. No one has given an authoritative reason that I recall ..but there does seem to be something like Techron present when Pb levels are slightly elevated in some engines ..with no other explanation in the trend. It doesn't occur with all of this type of usage in all UOA. I see it like how some engines react radically to something like Red Line's additive package ..while some could care less
We'll get a chance to see in a few weeks when I drain my current oil and have it analyzed.
I put in a full charge of Castrol Syntec 5w30 on March 4th. Since them I've run 3 tankfuls with Redline SI-1 at clean-up dosage, several tanks with Redline at normal treatment rates, and one tank with with a full bottle of Techron Proguard. I've never run Syntec in this engine before so I don't have any UOA on Syntec prior to running all the fuel system stuff. But I have lots of other UOA to compare to.
