Fuel injector cleaners

Hey fellas im just courious if using fuel injector cleaner every oil change (5K) could result problems down the road? I know it does wonders if your injectors are dirty. I have a 2002 Tacoma V6 Trd 4x4 w/46K and since new ive been using either chevron with techron or redline fuel injector cleaners. Thanks.

I have read that modern fuel injectors are "self cleaning", though that is not the actual term.

I have not heard that it will cause problems down the road though with use at every OCI.

I would go more toward the fuel system cleaner though.

Auto Zone has a nice deal.

Free Chevron Techron (12 oz) limit 2 w/ mail in rebate.

Were you using the cleaners for a specific problem or symtom, or for maint?

SeaFoam in the tank is good also.

The correct term is deposit resistant injectors (DRI). They started to be phased into production in the early 90s. They still get dirty though, and respond to cleaning, just not prone to clogging than before DRI.
