I stopped into a local lubricant distributor to pick up an oversized Baldwin oil filter for one of our cars and started asking about OTC oils they carried. The guy I talked to was very informative and spoke in terms that most BITOGers would be impressed with.
He recommended using their Duragard Diamond Plate synthetic oils over M1 and for my use in particular, to use the syn blend for OCI's of around 7500 mi (I'm not comfortable going past that with high mileage engines). He said they use Exx/Mob base stocks which I figured may mean some PAO, but they tout hydro-cracked clear base oils on their advertising. The price of the syn blend, if it is a quality oil as he says, is a good price at $23.40 for a 10-qt jug.
I've searched the internet and BITOG this morning and have come up empty on info. Just wondering if anyone has info or experience with these oils. I may have to take one for the team and try some as well as getting a VOA and UOA.
