I just came back after spending about 12 days in India. For seven days, we traveled from Mumbai to Himachal Pradesh (Manali, Dharamshal, Dalhoise) and then took the return flight from Amritsar. The scenery was breathtaking and food was marvelous. Even the roadside dhabas with unacceptable restrooms had phenomenal food. We had a grand time and I am still sorting through the photos and videos. However, we are not good photographers, so don't expect any masterpieces!
If you come from USA, the vibrancy and the color of the life there would completely stun you. Even though I was born there and spent half of my life there, I still get amazed when I visit.
But one does have to have right attitude to enjoy the experience and if you dwell on the dirtiness or poverty you will not have a good time.
