I picked up a bunch of the quaker state import atf at wal mart for a buck a quart. They also have the multi vehicle for 1 buck. What is better for an 88 acura legend. They both list honda/acura on bottle. The car manual says dexron 2. Which Acura now says use honda atf, which is a high silicone base fluid right.

Manufacturers have produced proprietary fluid to increase their bottom line. Don't worry about Hondacura fluids that are now needed for the newer cars.

Since your owners manual calls for Dexron, any fluid that meets dexron3 spec is OK.
Read the ATF bottle to see if its compatible.

Here's some data from Quaker State:

Multi-vehicle ATF is a synthetic blend fluid that is used where Dexron-3, Mercon, and Mercon-V is recommended.

Import ATF is blended to meet the requirements of Dexron-2 which is specified in many imported vehicles.

So, if your manual specifies Dex-2 then use the Import fluid. If it recommends Dex-3 or one of the other listed specifications then use the Multi-vehicle fluid.
