I'd like to apologize. If I come across as arrogant or as someone aptly put it "A Spoiled brat", it's not intentional. You all give great advice, even if opinions differ. I have a lot going on right now. My job is extremely stressful, with very strict quotas, and draconian attendance, my job is always hanging in the balance. I leave for work at 8AM, and get home around 11PM, 5 days a week.
Beyond that, in the past few months I've had some health issues pop up. When I had my routine physical last month, they found my liver enzymes were extremely elevated, as well as Vitamin D3 so low it barely registered. I've been back to the doctor a few times, and have had one ultrasound, and I have another one, as well as a CT scan scheduled. Couple that with that I just turned 21. Normally that would be great. Now, we assumed, as most rational people would, that the new healthcare law with parental coverage till 26 would apply to military as well.
Well, on Jan 14th I get a letter from Tricate with my previous proof of coverage. Well, come to find out that I haven't had healthcare since January 3rd. I'd had one ultrasound and two blood tests in that period. So then I had to go to HR and get them to let me enroll in our healthcare coverage, which while quite good, is now costing me an additional $150/mo. This is part of the reason I'm doing the car thing. And they haven't yet told me whether it's retroactive or not, am I going to have to pay out of pocket for those appointments? I just don't know yet.
Add in the fact that my dad is still underneath the pacific ocean and won't be home until October. AND now we need to worry about building a house and a new place to live. Since dad is not here, a lot of the logistics falls to me. It's just one more thing.
My mom is having her thyroid removed in ~3 weeks, so of course I'm worried about her, in addition to that I have to take care of my brother and sister around all of this.
I have a lot going on, so if I come across as a bit.... testy, this is why. I do appreciate all your input, believe it or not. And believe me when I say that I'm not trying to find excuses to buy a new car. I'd rather not have to go through this again, but financially it doesn't make sense to stay where I'm at right now.
If you read this far, thanks for listening to me rant/complain. And please, don't stop telling me your opinions, because I do appreciate them, even if I don't necessarily do a good job of showing it..
Thanks
-Nick
