Ignorant guy lets a train hit his classic GMC truck

The right of way of a train track is wide enough so that if your stuff gets hit, you were trespassing.

Hope truck guy's insurance pays for the damage to the train. Maybe they'll even sue him for delaying getting the load in on time.

I can't believe the guy stood there holding onto the truck, that was an insane thing to do, I would have expected the back end to whip around right into him

As I watched the video, I was totally bewildered by the truck owner's comment about it only being a battery, when he was offered help to roll it back off the track. I couldn't wrap my head around what he thought it mattered, of what made the truck stall, when considering the importance of getting his truck away from the track. Could he not comprehend the risk?

It would have. Not to mention it could have possibly derailed the train. This whole thing is phony as hell. If that truck got hit by the first locomotive, it would have went flying like a headpin hit with a 16 pound bowling ball.

At around 5:31, just as the first locomotive passes by, you can still see the right front wheel of the truck underneath the train. If you again pause it at 5:33, you can see his legs and feet still standing there as the second locomotive passes by. You can also see the truck starting to roll backwards.

You can tell by the trucks position, it is too far away from the tracks to begin with. Also, why did he film it from the opposite side of the tracks? He could have just as easily had the camera on the same side of the tracks the truck was parked on. It would have showed the "collision" far better, and much more dramatically.

Look at the front end after it was supposedly "hit". There is almost no damage to the front end where the point of contact was made by the locomotive. That truck would look like a soda can that was put in a vice.

This whole thing is as phony as a 3$ bill. Youtube is really turning into a turd factory. That's driven by idiots, in order to get hits to generate $$$$.

Yeah right, nice wild conspiracy theory. Youtuber and train company staged this accident, got it.
There was nothing to "stage". Watch the video and you can see that train never touched that truck. The only "conspiracy" is getting you to believe it had. It would appear they were successful.

Staged? Some train hobbyist and his wife and dog want to make a "fake" train collision video and you think they had the clout to get someone to cough up not one, but two identical '67 trucks to participate, one damaged and one not, got the railroad to schedule a train to come by just in time, and the railroad was willing to bring one of their trains to a stop so these guys could get some phony video?

I guess the UTV community is all involved too since they have been posting about this incident on forums for months now...all fake, I guess. Local law enforcement was involved, and the landowner has shut down access to the trail. Fake fake fake.

You think Youtube is a turd falacy, you should read some of the stuff nutters are posting here lately....

Why would they have to get the railroad to schedule anything? Why would law enforcement have to get involved? The train never touched that truck. Watch the video. You can clearly see the truck rolling backwards as the train passes by at the 5:33 point.

.......Neutral rollback 3ft would have avoided it.

NAW ITS JUZ MY BATTrRE Cable lemme fix it while I'm over the tracks that 40trains a day use......

What could go wrong?
Exactly. That, and the fact the truck was never that close to the tracks to begin with. All anyone has to do is look at the uphill angle that truck is parked at.

Depends what touched the truck as boring video is missing the impact as it’s filmed from other side.

Fake or not, I was expecting a nice crunch upon impact. That bumper is suspiciously intact and I think I notice the wheels of the truck roll down the hill instead.

Did the UTV community/forum get a better picture or video of the accident? Insurance scams are prolific and the guy didn't really seem panicked or worried as the train came by.

There is damage on the lead engine though (8:47 into the video). Pickup driver could have gone backwards a few inches and been okay.

Again, nothing touched the truck. You can see the trucks wheels rolling backwards from underneath the second locomotive as it passes by. All that touched that truck was the guys hand when he moved the gear lever into neutral.

Why else would you stand there, holding onto a truck, that you KNEW was going to be hit by a train? None of this makes any sense. Him hanging on to the truck. Filming the whole thing from to opposite side of the impact. Not to mention the lack of any dust generated from the impact itself.

That truck was parked on gravel ballast. It would have went flying everywhere if that train had hit it, and there would have been a cloud of dust. Much like in the video I posted. There was nothing, because the train hit nothing.

Yes, the truck rolled backwards. It wasnt hit broadside, what did you expect? To see it flying through the air? The train hit its right front bumper, as shown very clearly in the damage shown at the 7:51 mark in the video. It rolled backwards, its wheels slightly turned, and rolled backwards and eventually tumbled down the hill.

Are you saying they had two different '67 trucks there? One damaged, one not? Since the train never hit the truck, as you claim, how else would they have done this? Not to mention the 'fake' damage on the front of the train.

You think that a 4000 lb truck would derail a locomotive that weighs twice as much as a 737?

Why did the train stop? You think they convinced the engineer ahead of time to stop to assist videoing this fake setup? Why would it stop if they didnt hit anything?

In order for your fantastic conspiracy to work, we need these ingredients:

- A guy, his wife, and their dog, set up to video at just the right time for the train to come by
- Not one, but two identically painted '67 GMC pickups, one damaged, one not
- The guy hopped in and rolled it backwards after the phony nonexistent collision while the train was barreling by
- All perfectly setup and timed so that the truck wasnt visible six seconds after it supposedly "hit"
- The identical yet damaged 2nd truck sitting at the bottom of the hill, so that the UTV'ers in the area would have something to see after the nonevent didnt happen. Or were they all involved actors all part of the joke?
- A willing train engineer, all set up beforehand, that would be willing to stop the train while they video in order to perpetuate his phony part of this
- All participants willing to set themselves up for potential legal issues, since local law enforcement got involved investigating the incident
- This was all done on private property, and the landowner has shut down access to this area, much to the dismay of the UTV enthusiast community since this was a big favorite area of theirs, and none of the disaffected UTV'ers were smart enough to figure out this was all fake like you did

Uh huh.
