I do it after every hand wash, and not only does it help with drying, the slickness it leaves is mighty impressive too. I don't care what brand you use either. I've used Eagle One, Turtle, Meg's, Mothers, and another one that slips my mind right now. They all do the trick, even the cheapo Turtle, which smells pretty good too. Worth spending $3-5 to add it to the wash process IMHO.

I assume some kind of spray on wax? Or a wax & soap combo in the bucket?
I go one step further, I wash my car with Meguires car wash, and put a capful of NXT liquid wax in the bucket. Puts a nice sheen on the car every time I wash it!

I use a combination of Eagle One Wax as u Dry and Nano Wax. Paint is still in showroom new condition.
$5 off $5 at O'Rielly's let me pick up a couple Eagle1 WAUD for super cheap - as little as I wash, I figured this might help

I detail a lot of cars, and seen a lot of people that claim their paint is in showroom condition, aside from the cars that are actually on the showroom floor, the only one I've actually seen in showroom condition was a limited edition Camaro that had 8 miles on it. FWIW, I'm too am a big fan of spray waxes, Optimum car wax is what I'm currently using, works great.

I NEVER gave an estimate without seeing the car first because of that. I've certainly seen many cars actually in the showroom that were just awful.

Most salesman at the stealerships where I live would throw the DISO (Dealer Installed Swirl Option) in for FREE. And if by some luck you were lucky enough to not get the DISO, which is rare, they will be given to you with that "free" dirty brush/mitt wash they offer when you get your car serviced.

In my life I have NEVER seen a brand new black car that didn't have swirls in it already. That's why I'll never get a black car ever again. It just shows the most minute flaws too easily.
I wash my cars with Meguiars Gold Class shampoo, leaves the paint clean and conditioned, spray wax or detail after every wash with Surf City Gararge sprays with carnauba, beautiful shine and outlast both Meguiars and Mothers

It must be the area you live in because any new black colored vehicle on the dealership floor or lots dont have swirls,etc around here.
