the rest of your life, what would it be. I had a hard debate between between Pennzoil Yellow Bottle 10w30 and Ultra 5w30.After some thought,my pick is Pennzoil Ultra 5w30 if I could only use one motor oil the rest of my life.Waiting to hear your picks.

Well, I personally started using PYB when I started driving at the age of 16 and switched to Pennzoil synthetic when they first came out with it, and will more than likely be using that for the rest of my life. Right now that is the Platinum, but if and when my local Walmart starts to carry the Ultra, I will probably switch to that.

Valvoline Maxlife 5w30 would be my pick in a pcmo situation. A bit more robust than ordinary oils, and protects seals, ect for long life.

If doing extended OCI's my pick would be PP 5w30

I would have to say Shell Rotella 5W40 then. Only because I want a diesel one day and this oil seems to work great in no matter what the application.

Johnny,
I'm a fan of Shell Lubricants in general and Pennzoil in particular. I know you're connected so I was wondering if you would be so gracious as to enlighten me about two oils? My question is, is there a relationship or any similarity between Pennzoil Ultra and Shell Helix Ultra? Thanks in advance, Hemi 426

Ah Mike, you got there ahead of me. Exactly what I planned to say. If it had to be one oil only, I'd take M1 5w30. Now, which flavor...

M1 5-30. Reasonable price,Excelant deposit control, long OCI(10K), easy to find, with 10K OCI engines last for tons of miles.
