Was in Charlotte yesterday and walked in the China-Mart. I cruised over to the automotive section. I don't know if anyone has seen the big fancy displays Pennzoil has to launch the Ultra line of oils. They are designed as end-cap displays. In other words,they are made to go on the end of the oil ilse as customers enter the oil erea. Pennzoil's display was stuck on a shelf in the camping department completely out of the auto section. If you were going in there to buy oil you would have never seen it.
The iron-supplement for women dominated the end caps in the auto section. Mistake? maybe. Just the result of low paid employees? maybe. I just smell a rat myself.
 
I've noticed the same sort of thing by me. I even remarked to my wife why do they have this here, instead of in the department with all the others. Must be some grand marketing scheme. Or if your wandering thru the ladies underwear dept with your wife, you'll see the oil and make a impulse buy.,
 
The Wal-Mart near me also had their PU display near the camping and outdoors section. Nowhere near the regular oil section. For a while I just figured that they were not carrying it yet. Never would have seen it if I had not wanted to see the pocket knives. I guess when you are the 400 lb gorilla, you get pushed out of the way by the 800 lb gorilla.

Same thing at BOTH of the WMs by me, I couldn't find it at either store when I first looked. It was stuck in the camping section on an end cap in both stores, and the last time I looked it was still there.

The WM I have seen STILL have Some Pennzoil Ultra Quarts marked as Clearance at $5 a Quart.

Beyond that, they have the Old style of bottle (Upright, oddly shaped) and the new, wider, "Sporty"-looking Oil Jug side-by-side. Same Price, Same Oil for Pennzoil HM, PP, and PU.

My Wal-Mart now has a wide Oil Shelf and TONS of M1 15W-50, In Jugs and Quarts, Pennzoil in the middle, and pretty much a normal "Striped" array, as reminded of when i worked in the Department Store.

And its SOO darned CHEAP! Compared to, oh, say, Auto Parts Stores.

And dont lie. When you look at Undies, you thing "Boo-ring" and Wander off to the Airsoft Guns/Sporting Goods/Ammo and Oil, which are remarkably close to each other in my Wally World

EXACTLY! Or maybe he does! Some of these post are border line crazy. You saw it, but you are complaining that they didn't have it in a certain location? They had it where it belongs...on the end because it isn't selling at all.

FYI...I'm so tired of people using the term China-Mart. You come on here bashing Wal-Mart with that term, but YOU drove YOUR car there and WALKED into the store to spend money. If you don't like the store that much, why did you WASTE your gas to go there?

I actually have never bought a drop of Castrol in my 47 years of changing oil. Everything I read or hear is that Castrol is as good as any other oil, but their advertising is comical at best. When you see adds that have sludge falling on people or money flying out of dash vents, or wierd guys going around wacking people with sticks, it reminds me of the stuff that clowns do to intertain. Thus the comment. No problem with the oil at all.
 
You guys now have me thinking if it's done intentionally, I had thought it was nothing more than a space issue.

I asked my wife to pick 2 cases of Pepsi Max and she came home without it. She said they didn't have any, I said what do you mean there's pallets of Pepsi products down the aisle with the bicycles (opposite side of store)...lol

They also have PYB in my store on an end cap over by the paint section.
 
Hmmm... I'll have to check the camping section next time I'm out and about. Still haven't been able to find Ultra at my local store, but maybe I've been looking in the wrong place.
 
Been a clown for 20 years never did that sludge prank on anyone,but the way they have handled the leak my dollar will go somewhere else.Castrol must be ok atleast in the GTX flavor
