Was in the middle of writing a post this evening, regarding what was my daughter's first exceptional friend's birthday party.
Normally, we have problems, with too much (induced energy), and not enough burning off, have a [censored] evening, and shocking bed-time.
This time, the party was at a park, fruit salad was served with birthday cake, they had skipping ropes, frisbees, footballs, teamed races...the lot.

Our daughter attended a schoolmate's 6th Birthday Party today, and it was an amazingly refreshing experience for her (and us).
The parties that she's been to to date have been confined spaces, video games, soda and sweets... the aftermath has been hard to deal with.

Held at a playground, the hosts provided frisbees, footballs and skipping ropes...council provided slides, swings, grass
when she came in screaming about her eyes burning...looked around and she came into her room, face literally glowing green.
The "glowstick" necklace that she'd won, she'd been playing with, she'd bent to rupture, and sprayed her eyes, nose and mouth with glowing greeny/yellow stuff.
Took her to the bathroom, and started flushing eyes, nose, mouth with water (better half grabbed the phone, as we had no idea what was in the stupid things)...
She broke free of me flusshing, at about the same time as the paramedics arrived, and while they were doing their bit (basically checking), I grabbed a generic MSDS, finding that it was pretty OK, but glass shards were the greatest risk (one of the reagents is in a glass tube).
Checked out fine at casualty.
I'm sure that there's a "universal law" about these things...either have a shocker on sugar and red colouring, or something else pops up and shakes your world...at least 16 out of 18 times.
