I hate %^&^&*# credit agencies. These three stooges are basically holding you by the 'nads - the world expects YOU to be error free (debt is good, but no boo-boos to their rules).

I checked all three companies for my personal health - found a stupid error at Experian saying I had a late payment on my Volvo in 199X. They quickly changed it, to their credit (no pun intended). Credit score over 800. Big whoop.

My wife ran credit checks at two of the three stooges at the same time. Guess what? Experian had the same error and was rapidly fixed. She didn't run Equifax because their web site kept vomiting (rhymes with comet). Credit score higher than mine!

Guess the #$@& what? The new mortgage sharks used only one agency - Equifax. And guess the ^&**% what!?!?! Those yokels are saying my wife never paid her student loan off! Huh??? Never popped up before on ANY report - and even more ironic the "fact" that she still owes this money never affected her credit score……

Oh well - now SHE has to fix it - as if it were HER error.

I hate this crap.

Yeah, P, the rest of us love these guys.

I'm making it a point never to have to worry about my credit score again.

I hope it all works out. will see though. Finally got rid of my last credit card this week. Will only use Debit cards from now on. Will pay off the vehicles hopefully next year and be totally debt free.

Will plan to save to pay cash for the next house, then move up from there. Will see if it works.

Yes home loan. I'm not "worried" about my credit score - I'm worried that the 3 idiots in control will do (and have done) stupid things that directly effect our lives.

As long as the morons at the 3 credit agencies are still in business, your credit rating will always be something to be concerned about. As you have found out, what your record says and reality aren't necessarily the same thing.

I think in much of Europe, this stuff is fobidden by law. It is pretty bad. Lot's of people have lost out on great deals because of this. It is a major problem. People with good credit often lose out because of these inaccuracies. It's a shame.

Just go with secured credit. Far less expensive, credit checks are immaterial, and the creditors don't tend to turn the accounts over to collection agencies if you are one payment late.

Anyone who owns a home or any financial investments who doesn't use secured credit, IMHO, is just stupid.

Honestly Pitzel - I fail to see how this will insulate us from the 3 clowns. Even if you have $1000000 cash, and borrow $10 - the yokels are still just as free to make "misteaks".....

Does Canada have the equivalent of Equifax, Experian and TransUnion?

Pablo, that guy Tom Martino that I always tout on here has several class action lawsuits going against the 3 agencies for this type of ****. You could probably get in on it. Probably nothing to gain but the satisfaction of getting back at them. It'd be more satisfying to drop a jdam bomb on their locations though.

True, when applying for secured credit, they will pull your file up with the credit rating agencies. But in that instance, they are only concerned that you aren't making any fraudulent assignments of security, or otherwise misrepresenting your financial situation.

Still, I look at some of my friends, some have several hundred thousand of equity in their houses, yet have $20k credit card balances racking up interest at 27%/annum. It completely does not make sense. (just as borrowing $10 doesn't make sense if you have "$1000000 cash"

Transunion and Equifax.

For some jobs an employer will do a security check and usually this credit info too. Having bad credit can make you look irresponsible and lose you a potential job, although you may never know why. I've seen this recently and all the credit info was in error.
