I still have the scars on both thumbs from childhood when I unscrewed a lamp light switch while it was on. One of those in the cable with a sideways switch. I remember vibrating and unable to call out and faling to the floor where luckily it pulled the lamp cord away from me. Black holes in both thumbs but I never told my parents.
