Hi All,

I chipped the harmonic balancer while trying to pry it off (yes I'm an idiot).

Do you think I can deburr the edges and still use it or replace?

Leaning towards replacing. Don't want to rip up a belt.

Its a Volvo T5 5cyl. engine. 2015 B5254T12.

It'll be fine actually. If you look at the crust on the balancer it doesn't look like the belt touches that spot anyway

Happened on my 440k mile Cummins. Many miles later it’s no worse for wear.

The balancer performs many functions and has some stress exerted on it . It's damaged near a belt groove.. I would replace it.

Next time use the proper puller made for the job of removing the balancer.

I learned the hard way to put down some towels so as to provide a soft landing for a harmonic balancer that pops off unexpectedly.
