I can feel the difference with castrol Edge...

It's hard to prove w/o any #'s. I don't doubt some oils make some engines a tad more noisy, or quiet, but whether it actually means anything is another story.

I now have 9800 miles on this OC with the Focus, and can tell no differance in engine performance. I've never noticed a differance with an OC.

Castrol took aim at M1 when they marketed EDGE so this is a score for them. How long have you been running your EDGE? See if it still feels like this when it isn't so fresh.

Cars almost always feel smoother immediately after an oil change. The question is not whether the new Castrol Edge feels smoother than the M1 you drained out, but whether it feels smoother than the fresh M1 you put in.

Ok, now lets all go down to our nearest mental health store and take a few short swigs of Mind Clear Tonic from the local Witch doctor and do 3 laps around the cuckoo tree just to make sure.lol

When I've done oil changes but kept the same brand I never felt a difference ever. But as mentioned above, I definitely noticed a difference when I switched to GC and when I switched to GTX 5w20. So in my case I'm definitely not imagining it, and I believe the original poster in this thread too. When you drive a car long enough to do feel "in tune" with it and can notice the subtle differences that some oils might give it or even a different brand of gas.

Better,or worse?

Fresh oil of any type usually give me a feel difference.

That Edge is supposedly thin for it's rating, and that would add to it's livelier engine feel. Small engines respond to differences in oil viscosity .

Most definitely better. It wasn't a massive difference, but I noticed a slight increase in throttle response in the low end and a slightly smoother engine. I did not notice that same change whenever I did a fresh oil change after the first one, it was only noticeable when I first did the switch.

This one? It hasn't been updated in a while, but might still be useful.
