I have 4 quarts of ST left and 15 qts of NAPA for my Prius. I was thinking of running my oil for 1 year, because I only drive about 4k miles a year, but right now I've had my fill of ST / Fram in for 4+ months, and I'm "getting that urge" for an OCI. Why? Because it's something to do, and I happen to like to do an OCI 2x a year.
I do prefer the Fram filter because it has silicone ADBV and more holes drilled in the open end of it.

I just changed my rear diff oil, also largely only for "something to do". With beer. An excellent evening was had. Press with your oil change and enjoy! I find it odd that no one ever gets any grief for wasting a gallon of gas. Or 20 bucks on almost anything else.

You could always drain the oil into a clean pan, wait a while then put it back in. You get your 2X OCs and don't waste that nice synthetic on a 2K OC.
You're bad!!! :p

Future auto mechs should be happy this person was somewhat over-zealous with his car's maintenance, rather than what's normally seen -- just the opposite.

Continue on, and have fun doing it. :)

For the number of people who don’t change oil, or only occasionally, some people doing it crazy early balances it out!

Enjoy changing your oil!!!

Let it ride ...
I may do that.
Do you think ST can last a full year as much as the NAPA made by Valvoline?
For some reason I'm feeling like the NAPA FS oil will be better than the ST, but I'm probably cutting hairs again.

It's not what I'd say is a waste of oil because I will recycle it, if anything it's just a waste of my money.
But wait, I don't want to waste my money. The older I get, the more of a tightwad I am.
But the engine still feels like it's being well lubed by the Supertech Full Synthetic.

What about a waste of your time? Just crawl under the car and take a nap, or perhaps do an OCI of 90 days regardless of mileage. Could be worse, at least you're not going to stealerships or Iffy Lube.
