Oh what the heck, time for an OCI

On 3/22/2011 I did an OCI with new Rotella 5w40 synthetic, and that was only about 1500 miles ago. I was going to run it for a whole year but changed my mind. I checked the oil yesterday and it smelled of fuel, so I decided to do an OCI with 1.5 qts of leftover Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and the rest Q Horsepower 5w30, and a cup or so of DuraLube, with a new PureONE filter.

With all of my BITOG oil deals stored [4-5 five qt jugs] I may as well do an OCI 2x a year. My 2004 Sentra only takes 3 qts per OCI.

It certainly can be wise to dump oil with fuel in it.
This may be from little use to a mechanical problem. Find out what's up.

BTW, you did an OC, not an OCI.

The car sat from 7/27 to 10/10, and I started it up only once in that time. So, maybe it was a good time for an OC after all.

Can he not go for a real rip and get the oil to evaporate the gas out? Or if he's going for a long drive soon, shouldn't that help?
I guess for the cost of 3 quarts, its no big deal but I'd be tempted to leave in the filter.

I've been on a fairly long drive, and I use the car like I normally do, going to a gym that's 8 miles away, one way. So, I don't know but it seems as though anything that needed to get evaporated would have by now.

I was thinking of leaving the oil filter in because I couldn't get it loosened at first but I managed to get it off, so I changed that too.

If I hear of any good deals on oil, I'd be hard pressed to pass it by. Maybe I can hand the stuff down to my nephews if it outlives me.

It's more of a twelve quart case program than a twelve step one.
