I am still not changing my own oil

Cute girls, I'd go out with them. Beer drinkers to boot. Almost like a beer commercial. May have to start going to yoga classes.

That was impossibly cute! I loved their technical terms, like how they're going to remove the "cap to get the oil out" (drain plug).

They're certainly to be commended for their bravery. Very few girls would be willing to get involved in something as icky as changing (dirty) oil in a (dirty) car.

Hey, they called the dipstick a dipstick. My wife watched it and wanted to know what she should do if anything ever happens to me. We agreed she needs to make sure a son or son-in-law is available. Too bad they didn't check the oil again after running the engine. However, since it was full, it is likely it was only down half a quart.

The whole thing would have been easier without those gloves, but then their fingernails might not have been date ready. Cardboard works as well as a yoga mat and doesn't get the yoga mat dirty.

I noticed the oil they drained looked pretty unused.

I remember old Union 76 commercials from the late 70s and early 80s featuring Murph the station owner and his employees. One of them was a woman named "Jill", who did some of the maintenance work.

Well, at least she's being honest.

The turbo engine in that TT would cry out loud if it could.

That was a 6 cyl Camry. Not sure if it makes a difference or not.

That was a 6 cylinder? I remember there being that exhaust manifold right above the oil filter and it not giving us much room to swing a band wrench. We'd use the Lisle 63600 on the Camrys and then use a small band wrench from below on the Corollas. It's been a little while - Toyota dealer back in 1999.

Yes, my dad had a 97 and then an 01 4 cyl. First and last year of that generation. So I thought it looked different. There's 3.0 stamped on the valve cover also. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have noticed.

The new Camrys starting in 2012 went to a cartridge style oil filter for some reason on the I4's.

Have changed the oil on my folks' 2001 Camry V6. Not only surrounded by the exhaust manifold, but designed to drain down the block and down an exhaust pipe. Other than the tight fit, access is easy, but I didn't know any way to do it without leaving a mess and having it eventually drip. So what I'd do was hose the driveway so that the dripping oil didn't soak in.
