1am here. The kids gave me the stomach bug. ick. Can't sleep, have the chills, fever and want to...er..you know. Nothing on TV til 2am when Red Eye comes on. I'll probably be awake for it.

10 days ago, I threw out my back. My left foot doesn't work, 'drop foot' it's called. Spent 9 out of the last 10 days sleeping on the couch tossing & turning w/o much sleep to try to get a comfortable position for at least a few hours sleep. Scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. Also scheduled for the final appointment for my ACL repair.

2 1/2 weeks ago, we buried a good friend as her cancer looked like it was getting better...the doctor was AMAZED at her progress! He said "this NEVER happens". Then 2 weeks later the wheels fell off and she went down hill fast. 47 is far too young.

Somehow my spirits aren't crushed by all this...bruised up a bit, but not broken at all. That's good I guess. As the Rush song goes "Workin' them angels, overtime..."

I have a screwed up sleep pattern and it does get boring at night. I usually don't feel productive enough to do school work and there's mostly informercials on TV. And sometimes it's hard to fall asleep. If I didn't have class in the morning I would be taking something to fall asleep but I probably wouldn't wake up in time for class or stay groggy for most of the day.

At least you're coping well.

As long as I get four hours sleep over a 24 hour period I'm good. Less than three hours sleep result in me getting cranky. I'm rarely cranky.

DVR's are great! If you can get one do it! Not that watching TV is the best thing to do by any shot but if you are up at 2 and looking for something good its nice to have what you want to see available.

Why would I want to watch TV if I have the internet at my fingertips, or books, or the secret project in the basement?

Snap out of it!!!!! If Neil can pull himself together after what he went through and rediscovering himself, YOU can too! Freewill!!!!!

^^^^^exactly!

Walker, Texas Ranger is on at 2am here on the Hallmark Channel, somehow I watched the entire last two seasons and now starting over on the first season :)

There's always YouTube....you can still find entire movies on there that have not been removed.

Schmoe, Neil did get over it, but it took him 2 years and 55,000 miles on his BMW motorcycle. I don't have 2 years...nor do I have a motorcycle. LOL

Thanks for the banter in this thread guys. I feel a notch or two better this morning.

Mori, how do you do it with so little sleep? Do you have lots of caffeine every day?

TNS,

I sympathize with you. I too had a stomach bug over the holiday weekend, and I have permanent back trouble as well (arthritis). Can't help you with your back situation, but hang in there; the stomach bug should pass (pun) in a couple of days, and you will feel MUCH better.

The lack of sleep is rough - hope that changes soon TNS.

My back is perfectly fine.

Mine makes a ton of noises.

Hope you get better TnS!

With your new found free time you could watch a movie about african-americans and write a 4 page paper about it then do research about the use of plastics in automobiles and write a 4 page white paper on it. Email them both to me by next week and we'll both be happy!
