I think the MC has a pretty high percentage of GIII base oil along with GII+ from what I understand, so I don't think it can be classified as a regular old mineral oil. Again, I go back to the used oil analysis on MC and PP and they both seem to be excellent, so is it worth spending an extra, say, $750 or so over the life of the vehicle on PP? (300K life, 6K avg oci, $3/qt extra are the assumptions here.)

Maybe...I just don't know. Now if I could consistently get PP at $3/qt, then I think it's a solid choice.

Your engine is well protected with the MC.

Your goal of 300k is not a hard one.

You don't NEED to use syn unless you want to spend the $$.

At 300k, your engine will be clean and running well.

I've done it with yesterdays conventional oils and todays are much better.

Sleep well and save the $$.

I'm shooting for 400k (and have over 65k on it already) with my 05 Toyota and am running Castrol GTX, Pennzoil conventional, QS and Chevron.

All for under a buck a quart and I'm saving $$$ over the life of the car.

The used oil analysis are showing low wear and clean running. I even did a used oil analysis using Mobil 1 and regular Pennzoil did better.

No worries here.
