I've been looking at the Hyundai engine warranty which is 100,000 miles. Being that the engine warranty is long and the search of Hyndai oil filters shows that it's a relatively robust filter, I figure the filter must have very good construction and do a good job keeping the oil clean. I was looking at Hyundai oil filters which cross reference over to the Honda oil filter. The price of the Hyundai oil filters are relatively cheap. Has anyone ever used a Hyundai oil filter on a Honda?

Hyundai filters are great filters. They have a silicone ADV, but Hyundai only warranties them for 6 months/7500 miles on Hyundai vehicles. They will not back them for any more than that, and they will not back them on non-hyundai vehicles.

Thanks for the reply. I have a 03 Honda CRV with 140,000 miles. It runs like a champ and I was thinking about trying the Hyundai oil filters. I have no warranty with my current mileage and age so I may just pull the trigger.

I would just go with Purolator oil filters. They have always gotten great review and are cheap and easy to find in almost any autopart store.

The part number you will need is L14610

I was wondering about Hyundai oil filters myself. I have a friend who works at Hyundai and says she can get filters for my '13 Tucson for $4.17 each.

I have used a S2808 STP filter variant on my civic before without issue. You will be fine using, just make sure it fits properly. I believe sayjac also used a s2808 STP filter on a friend or relatives civic too.
