Hyundai OEM 26300-35505 C&P

The adbv 'looks' to be nitrile, afaik Hyun/Kia OEM use silicone. Perhaps just poor lighting. If it is legit, I suspect run a lot of miles.

Curious, did the endcaps fall off when opened, or did you remove them after opening? Judging from pics, going with the latter.

Thanks for c&p.
I just twisted them slightly.

Hyundai 26300-35505 unknown mileage unknown duration. Hyundai Tucson 2016 1.6 engine 157,000 miles on vehicle.
Is this a vehicle you bought used, or one you're servicing for someone? Since there's no history on how long this filter was used, or how the vehicle was used (ie, did it have lots of short trips in cold weather, etc), there could be a number of reasons why the media is looking like it does. And if it's actually a counterfeit filler (I doubt it), then it could be the media is simply pure junk.

What's the main give-away?
Everything:
- black ADBV
- coil spring vs leaf
- center tube finish and holes
- collapsed pleats!!!
- lack of centering/spacing tabs on end caps

Those Mann filters that I use are supposedly made at the same factory/s as Kia/Hyu filters and use same materials and specs as Mann was the original design for the filters. Mann filters are very widely used in EU on Korean cars but they have a problem with fake filters there as well. I've not seen fake Manns here in NA yet.

I have used these for years in my Hyundai and Kias and cut open at least a dozen of them. All of them pristine. The one you have is head scratching for sure.

This is probably a knock off.

Was it possibly purchased at a HYUNDAI parts department ? Hope not . Get the O.E.M. oil filters for the SOULs' from the KIA parts department for a reasonable price .

Well at least you have it on track to help. I presume girlfriend is less than 6 months then. I have same scenario with daughters boyfriend and about the same timeframe but he is interested in trying to get it right. He panics if he's coming over and hasn't checked his oil or tire pressure in the last couple days  ;) :ROFLMAO: 😁 . '21 Sonata with 85k bought used and first check here he was about 2qts low. Topped it with Valvoline Restore and Protect and used Valvoline Restore and Protect on last change.

My daughter-in-laws Tucson I mark the filter in case it needs to go to dealer or other. My son went to Walmart for OC recently and brought a new Hyundai filter from dealer. He marked it in the parking lot before giving it to them. He's 8 hours away in an apartment complex lacking places to do it himself. Walmart lets him grab the Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 off the shelf and use his filter.

like this.
