The inside of the bypass has a little Hyundai logo etched or stamped into it. So I’m thinking it’s legit?
It could be but who knows from when and how long it was on there. That media has definitely taken some abuse. The pictures from mine were ones I purchased on line about 2 years ago. I now just go to the Hyundai dealer as I drive by on my way home. I get receipt with daughter-in-laws name on it for any warranty questions for the next 6 years / 75k. Price is about the same as taking chance on line with the counterfeits.

What went back on? What oil? what is planned OCI's?

Welcome to BITOG

Fram Force from AAP. They were clearanced for 1.50 each so I bought a couple. Supertec FS 5w30 went in. I’ll change it out at 5k or 6 months.

Maybe it is! That’s kind of crazy. It’s my girlfriends vehicle so I don’t know any history on it other then bought used maybe 6 months ago.
Well at least you have it on track to help. I presume girlfriend is less than 6 months then. I have same scenario with daughters boyfriend and about the same timeframe but he is interested in trying to get it right. He panics if he's coming over and hasn't checked his oil or tire pressure in the last couple days  ;) :ROFLMAO: 😁 . '21 Sonata with 85k bought used and first check here he was about 2qts low. Topped it with Valvoline Restore and Protect and used Valvoline Restore and Protect on last change.

My daughter-in-laws Tucson I mark the filter in case it needs to go to dealer or other. My son went to Walmart for OC recently and brought a new Hyundai filter from dealer. He marked it in the parking lot before giving it to them. He's 8 hours away in an apartment complex lacking places to do it himself. Walmart lets him grab the Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 off the shelf and use his filter.

like this.

Oof, this is the worst 35505 cut off I ever seen. Filter material is all black with metal dots. Yikes. Last owner must buy in the 7.5k mi oil change thing.

The adbv 'looks' to be nitrile, afaik Hyun/Kia OEM use silicone. Perhaps just poor lighting. If it is legit, I suspect run a lot of miles.

Curious, did the endcaps fall off when opened, or did you remove them after opening? Judging from pics, going with the latter.

Thanks for c&p.

Here is a photo of the logo on the relief valve. There was no writing on the can but I assumed it was OEM based off of this. Im not familiar with these filters. Guessing it’s a fake after what you guys have said. Any other input is appreciated!
