I am not a fan of new HVAC equipment. Absolutely awful.

What's the downside if this thing fails? Is it an emergency or is there a backup?

My FL house has a 22 year old American Standard. It is no emergency when it dies, as I have backup AC. Right now I'm searching for a condenser fan motor for the thing.

I would not replace it now. Wait until it needs a big repair. If it's working when go to sell someone may question an old HVAC or maybe not. If I was a buyer I'd prefer to get a discount and put in the system of my choice. A seller doing the replacement just to look good for a sale might put in a Goodman. Which might last 6 to 8 years.

You dug up a thread from Sept 2023; more than a year ago.
Your advice is likely falling on deaf ears, as this thread is stale.
