WoW !
This is going to be an interesting storm with the possible effect of way more than a hurricane would have produced.
I know my neighbors along the SC lowlands and coast can experience the storm of a lifetime or many lifetimes. Only time will tell.
It's the same on my NC side of the border. As of right now, the way to soon to know NHC Forecast map, my location shows 12 to 16 inches of rain.
Being we are a newer part of the community I am not too worried (though it's not tested) though literally down the block is still mapped as a flood zone. The older section will get hit bad if we get 12 inches. I think, sort of know, our particular location on our block will be ok. I think, we still are built of swamp land so anything can go IF this turns historic, never mind the huge creek in my back yard that all the lakes drain into but ... we are the highest point almost on the block and just outside the flood zone.

(my wife will be pissed that we didnt buy flood insurance*LOL*) Not required but we arent far away from the "zone" like around the corner almost.

My Cousin got 10" yesterday through this morning in Sarasota just a couple blocks in from the coast. Water almost to her door.

I was just texting with her to see if she is o.k. She is in her mid 70's

Please let us know how you make out. Flood waters can come up quickly and be much higher than expected.

Here's hoping you stay safe and secure in your home with your family!!
Thanks, good news is, we are the newer developed area and latest water standards to everything that is being built. It just depends on how high those standards are but Im sort of confident and as I posted we are just outside the flood zone by a very little bit.

The 2015 storm did flood the older 20 year old areas. But not sure how many of those homes had a lot of water intrusion. The entire area is really built up swamp land in a coastal area. But they know a lot more than they did 20+ years ago

My buddy in New Port Richey said no flooding, but he had to pump a couple thousand gallons of water out of his pool since it overflowed from the rain, but they should be getting out of the rain band soon.

I'm in Fort Mill, South Carolina. Just below Charlotte, NC. Looks like we have 4-6 inches coming according to latest forecast. Not much compared to others, but a lot for our area.....

My M-I-L is in Ocala, FL. Hoping she gets through okay.

Las Vegas gets about 5" in a year. 30" at once is almost Biblical.
Yeah, it is a lot, we must note that it will be over a few days and not just one day. Still, I know if it happens areas like Charleston SC will be devastated, along with many other areas, just no avoiding it. Still manageable for some more modern built areas, I hope 🙄

Just getting some sprinkles here, no issues.
My niece in Savannah might have a problem though.
Might?
Yeah, I wouldnt want to be there right now. ( we are up at the SC/NC border and watching/waiting) TO soon for us to know the exact track up near us but looking substantial (possibly). But for your niece, things are a bit more certain, as far as forecasting anyway.
This is the Savanna area below

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Tropical Storm Debby is expected to stall near the area mid
to late week. Widespread rainfall amounts of 10 to 20 inches,
with local amounts near 30 inches are expected. Potentially
historic and catastrophic flooding likely.

Yeah, I know. My BIL lives in White Springs FL and has been out of power since before 6 AM. He's right in the eye of the storm as we speak. Praying for him for sure!

Alarmguy,

Hopefully the flooding is not too bad. Take some pictures if you can.

Even a bad storm or ‘weak’ Cat 1 hurricane can do some serious damage.

I went through Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and no electricity for 3 weeks.
