The ester in HPL is a stronger, but more importantly a more effective, solvent than anything on the supplement shelf. Do not use a supplement or flush of any kind with HPL. It will only hurt it.
I never recommend supplements or flushes anyway. My take is, if your oil needs a supplement, you need a better oil.

I wanted to try Valvoline Restore and Protect in our old and crusty KIA Sorento. At 140K miles, it's burning a bit of oil. Would HPL do a better job compared to Valvoline? I mean, I can get Valvoline at Walmart for the same price as the most expensive Mobil 1, which is like the best motor oil, right bellow AMSOIL. Thanks for your input. The ester in HPL is a stronger, but more importantly a more effective, solvent than anything on the supplement shelf. Do not use a supplement or flush of any kind with HPL. You can disclose it… it’s “the ester that works as described and is of the finest quality”. Disclosing the actual chemical makeup means nothing to about 99% of the population; besides, it’s not like “we” can get our hands on it anyways, or that we could actually create something useful from it. Different esters can be combined to achieve similar results. The exact ester I'm not at liberty to disclose. Yes, their oils contain an equal amount of ester and AN.
The most accomplished people in this world focus all of their energy only on where their strengths lie. If other specialties are required to improve upon that, very few actually waste energy on learning those things; they find existing experts that can improve what’s needed. That leaves them free to do what they’re best at, and why those who practice this distance themselves from all competitors. What I was wondering is if HPL ever considered their own branded oil filters.... even if they are made by another manufacturer to better construction and specs.
Where or how can we buy HPL? I do not see where it is sold or a way to order if from their website.
Thanks. I am planning to change the oil on a recently purchased cub cadet tank S7237-KW that has a 37 hp Kawasaki engine. It says 250 hours but appears to be higher than that for a 2011 mower. It smokes a bit at start up but goes away and runs very smooth. I don't know the maintenance history so think I should run a good cleaning oil through it to make it last as long as possible. ThanksIt's sold through their distribution arm. Advanced Lubrication.
