HPL users also doing solvent flush or no?

I was doing a BG EPR flush every 10k-20k miles to keep the low tension rings clean but recently switched to HPL.

My question: is the ester in HPL enough that a solvent oil flush is not needed anymore? Or is still a good idea on occasion?

The ester in HPL is a stronger, but more importantly a more effective, solvent than anything on the supplement shelf. Do not use a supplement or flush of any kind with HPL. It will only hurt it.

I never recommend supplements or flushes anyway. My take is, if your oil needs a supplement, you need a better oil.

+1

What kind of ester is used? Do they use any ANs?

I just ran it for 7k in my 2021 that had 42k on it at the time. Regular 5-6k oil changes using clearance idemitsu for the most part. No ill effects or filter clogging. It did drain pretty black when the time came. But, so is the oil right now in my wife’s 24 that only has 10k on it and has had hpl since 1k. I ran hpl for 5k (then changed it) and am planning on running this change the full OLM since I’ve hopefully got all the break in goo out.

I wanted to try Valvoline Restore and Protect in our old and crusty KIA Sorento. At 140K miles, it's burning a bit of oil. Would HPL do a better job compared to Valvoline? I mean, I can get Valvoline at Walmart for the same price as the most expensive Mobil 1, which is like the best motor oil, right bellow AMSOIL. Thanks for your input.

The exact ester I'm not at liberty to disclose. Yes, their oils contain an equal amount of ester and AN.
You can disclose it… it’s “the ester that works as described and is of the finest quality”. Disclosing the actual chemical makeup means nothing to about 99% of the population; besides, it’s not like “we” can get our hands on it anyways, or that we could actually create something useful from it. Different esters can be combined to achieve similar results.

The proof is in the results of top racers who use HPL, and stellar results in various applications here that have shown protection at distances shelf oils could only dream of achieving.

What I was wondering is if HPL ever considered their own branded oil filters.... even if they are made by another manufacturer to better construction and specs.
The most accomplished people in this world focus all of their energy only on where their strengths lie. If other specialties are required to improve upon that, very few actually waste energy on learning those things; they find existing experts that can improve what’s needed. That leaves them free to do what they’re best at, and why those who practice this distance themselves from all competitors.

It applies across every discipline & industry. The most successful companies are very tightly controlled to do only what they excel at; they contract the rest to experts they need; and they ignore all the rest. Somebody else is an expert in that stuff.

It's sold through their distribution arm. Advanced Lubrication.

Thanks. I am planning to change the oil on a recently purchased cub cadet tank S7237-KW that has a 37 hp Kawasaki engine. It says 250 hours but appears to be higher than that for a 2011 mower. It smokes a bit at start up but goes away and runs very smooth. I don't know the maintenance history so think I should run a good cleaning oil through it to make it last as long as possible. Thanks
