How's everyone liking the XenForo look?

I was wondering what was up when there was a message that everything was being restored from a backup. My only problem was that my password was no longer accepted, but I just reset it and entered my old password.

I am all for replacing something when something better comes along but this to me is not much of anything better, in fact worse in many ways eg alway quoting, now that is painful, the "like" thing has to go, that really sucks it reminds me of facebook (never used it and never will) put a dislike button or kick it to the curb right from the get go IMO..
Sure you get used to it but IMO the old one was better.

I do miss how easy it was to jump back to the main forum though. It used to be Forum>General and Off Topic>Thread your currently in.

I hate it. Every "upgrade" has been a downgrade ever since they took away our blanket & campfire -- at least back then one could make a S'more between making posts.

I kid, I kid--the Luddite comes out in me sometimes. So far so good.

Trav,

"Reply" means quote. If you want to reply without quoting, then type your reply in the reply box at the bottom and click "post reply"

XF is one of the most popular forum platforms out there and the functionality it affords far exceeds any visual "distractions" I may not like. I am good with it and as time goes on, tweaks will be made to improve appearance (an assumption on my part) and everyone will get used to it just as they did for the last UBB upgrade that happened.

So far the only thing I miss is the drop down menu to jump to others sub-forums. Overall, great jobs mods on the transition!!! Thank you for all you do!!!

I had to reset my password and it kept telling me my old login name was invalid. Once I got that sorted out and reset my password, it's working. Not a big fan of the new look but maybe I'll get used to it. I liked the old one I've been accustomed to for over 10 years.

The new forum looks like it has less features (despite that probably being the opposite case).. maybe the lack of donor avatars or the few people who had emojis (molakule).

Also why don't users locations appear next to their name anymore? This was useful when talking about things with our friends across the pond or border.

I've been on BITOG since 2003. I think this may be the 4th re-do we old timers have been through. It's all good. Always takes some getting used to is all.

no major problems, kind of looks like the old site. remember change is the only constant in life and this is a small change we can all adjust to for a nice place to converse and learn. thanks to mods and owner for letting me hang out here..

All of that stuff can be turned on or off by the board operator. Right now we don't have avatars, but I know XenForo allows that.

Still - I've seen one forum that hasn't changed its board software for over 20 years. It still works, although there's no inline imaging and it only allows a single link.

I’m on a iPhone so I ran into this as well. It is easy enough to tap on the menu and select FORUM. That takes me right to the main page.
