How's everyone liking the XenForo look?

Probably missed it. How to PM people? Wayne in particular.

Old timers are emailing me they can't get on.

There is a running thread in the General Board Information forum. (actually several)

People will have to use the forgot password link to reset the password using the e-mail address they are registered with.

If for whatever reason that doesn't work (as it didn't for me and apparently others) then there is a "contact us link" on the bottom of main forums page. People can use to contact Administration. This Quickly resolved my issue last night.

I still don't know why the password reset kept saying user not found but wayne fixed it and I was able to then follow the normal reset scenario. (and yes I had verified the e-mail address prior to the migration)

I am all for replacing something when something better comes along but this to me is not much of anything better, in fact worse in many ways eg alway quoting, now that is painful, the "like" thing has to go, that really sucks it reminds me of facebook (never used it and never will) put a dislike button or kick it to the curb right from the get go IMO..
Sure you get used to it but IMO the old one was better.
There are a lot of improvements in this new software.

It’s more stable. Better security.

Search now WORKS.

Moderator tools have more flexibility.

UBB software is unsupported and bugs, like search, can’t be fixed.

Wayne has put in months of work behind the scenes to bring this update, and we’ve been beta-testing during that time.

so, bottom line, it’s better, it has search, it will be kept current, it took a ton of work by Wayne, and you’ll learn to like it...just like you and I learned to like Fuel Injection in the 1970s...I know you and I miss carburetors, but this is better...

You didn't miss turbojets?

The new Xenforo platform looks pretty good and it will take a little time for people get use to it. Still some small tweaks that need to be done, but with time I'm sure it will all be fixed. Thanks Wayne and crew for all the hard work to go with the new software.

I had to reset my password and it kept telling me my old login name was invalid. Once I got that sorted out and reset my password, it's working. Not a big fan of the new look but maybe I'll get used to it. I liked the old one I've been accustomed to for over 10 years.
I had not been on the site in a couple of days. When I tried signing on I couldn't get on with my current password. I started thinking, "UH OH! What did I do now to get ANOTHER vacation?"
I just went and made a new password, and breathed a sigh of relief!

I am learning....its not bad...

But I would like to have a bigger difference if I red some topic (previously it was yellow colour for fresh post/topics)....now you dont know what is new and whats not...

And yes.....Avatars....I would like to have them....

I liked logging in with my username. Now it's my long email address. And I never have been able to stay logged in no matter how hard I push on the checkbox.... lol

Any unread forums and threads should show a difference from a read thread ... ie, bold text on unread vs not bold text on read. But yes, if unread threads were a different color it would be more obvious.

+1 on being able to upload an Avatar.

Its the same as one forum where I am moderator also.... (same platform) So my learning curve is "non existent"

So....if you have any questions...just ask :D

Meh....I like that feature....now there will be less "+1..." replys.... Those replys are unneeded...and only make topic unreadable!

BTW....for all those that dont know (yet!)....if you hold "like" button....you get more options!

Would like to have "dislike" function also....but I think that its not supported here on XF....?

for admin @wwillson

BTW.... if you add @ + username......user will be informed/highlighted ;)
That is what I would like to have.....printscreen from another XF forum (dark theme).....new threads..."NEW" sticker goes away after you have read that post...

I keep opening a new browser tab to go to BITOG, only to realize I'm already on BITOG - no drinking emoji?

Gonna take alittle time to adjust -- just like anything else new. Moderators were extremely helpful for an issue I had this morning with the new format and I just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!
