How Well Do Knipex Cobra Pliers Work As Pipe Wrenches?

Nutbuster style Channellock's grip pipes fairly well, I have the small size pair. Used them on black pipe on appliance connections on the job.

I actually have one of the Nutbusters. They do grip well but the jaws don't open wide enough to grip large bell trims.
Just like Knipex pliers, once locked on to a pipe, you can apply force to just the top handle to turn the pipe.
