^^This. I've been known to take a bucket of warm soapy water outside on a rainy day and knock only the worst of the dirt off the cars. No rinsing or waxing. It doesn't do much good once we've driven in and out of our gravel driveway a few times.
Sad but true isn't it? I found I sweat the small stuff less too, but that's a good thing. The older I get, the less I care. Now I just try to keep the salt off of it... so once a month in the winter and once or twice through spring and fall.
I wouldn’t say sad, more of a priority shift. Back when I did care more it was the only thing I really spent any time on (I was also a pretty depressed person from 18~20 but I digress), now I have soon to be 3 kids and an amazing wife who all mean far far more to me than a vehicle. Plus my oldest son LOVES going through the car wash, his laughter and giggling alone is worth the $20!Sad but true isn't it? I found I sweat the small stuff less too, but that's a good thing.
I have a few years on you, more than a few I think. In my case the mind wants to wash the car, the body says screw it it's too cold, too hot, or too sunny. lol I care about the looks and condition of my vehicles, just a little less now. I enjoy working on them, I just pick my days more. In a word, getting old sucks!I wouldn’t say sad, more of a priority shift. I used to freak out over a small scratch or rock chip or a small dent... now it just adds character to the car in a weird way. It’ll never be perfect, but that’s okay because neither am I.
When it looks dirty from about 30 feet. That is from front door to drive way.I currently was the Jetta once a week and the Accord every other week. I was washing both of our vehicles every week once upon a time but life is just too busy now. How often do you wash your rides?
OMG $20 for a wash!!. I do mine at a coin operated, .50 cent to start the washer but I put $2.50 and when it beeps another .50 cent's to get the deionized water. On wife's Sienna it is more like $4 for the wash.I wouldn’t say sad, more of a priority shift. That’s for the fancy one that pulls you through and does everything for you. They have cheaper options, but it’s a once in awhile thing so why not splurge. Plus I don’t have to get out and do it in the cold!OMG $20 for a wash!!.
