1999 Firebird - Driven sparingly and driven hard, every 3k.
2008 Scion tC - Every 5k, per the manual, driven in all conditions including below freezing.
2001 Honda Civic LX - Every 5-10k, depending on the oil type being used.
2013 Honda Fit Sport - Per OLM at 15%, usually between 7-10k

Conventional every 3,000-4,000

Synthetic blends every 5,000

Full synthetics every 6,000-8,000

It varies on the vehicle and also if it's under warranty.

OLM goes down to about minus %50.

The OLM counts negative?

My 2006 GM OLM does not actually count or indicate negative/minus numbers.
I reset the OLM when it indicates %20. Taking it from the new %100 down to %30 again, I know it is the equivalent of minus %50.

Ever 10,000 miles. It makes it easy to remember. 2007 Chevy w/t classic, 4.3 v6,
over 150,000 miles. I mainly use M1 HM 10/30 or if any name brand synthetic 10/30 is on sale.
I always used ac/delco filters till the ecore, then went with the P till the qc problems. Now I am in the hunt again for the non ecores and looks like I will be going to NAPA Gold.
In 10k miles I use 1/2 to 1 quart.

Every 5K, Pennz Plat, Wix.
Could care less what all the tree hugging yahoo's hoot and holler about waste

I know it is time to change the oil, or add oil when the car cannot maintain an RPM level of over 2,500, even at full throttle. When it gets to that extent, I change the oil and filter. Do you suppose the engine is about to seize?

It is strange how I put in 5 quarts, but only drain out 1 or 2. This is how its been with my 2001 Buick since I bought it in 2010.

Anyone know of a good gasoline that will not cause blue smoke to pour out of the tail pipe all the time? I have tried all brands around my hospital, and they call cause blue smoke to pour out like an old steam engine.

Maybe you're onto something. Let the engine tell you when to change the oil.

You won't have much to recycle either.

10k Oil and filter.
2012 and 2015 Jeep Wrangler RHD's used on a dusty mail route. 5w30 Schaeffer's 9000 full synthetic w/regualar UOA's. In over 100k mail route stop and go driving, I've never had a UOA come back that showing excessive wear, dust, overly depleted additives or to much loss in viscosity.

I change the oil yearly at least on my modified LS car even if under 3k miles, due to increased iron ect from high rpm runs. The DD, miata gets an OCI every 5k miles due to worn rings on piston #3, sequoia gets an OCI every 10k or so, depends on the amount of heavy towing it does. Obviously if I ever bought a brand new car depending on cautious OCI stretching I most likely would go 15k or more on a good EP syn. Worn rings and early TBN depletion effect my change intervals.

Maybe if using a API SE oil...

With syn, around 7-10K and 12-15-18 months, or when I feel like it... Beater F-150 with dino about same on time but probably won't have more than 5K mi(I've put a little over 10K on it in 2.5 years)...

The toys that don't get more than 400-500 miles per year, about every four years...
