How often do you change your oil?

10,000km in the Nissan diesel...that's been nearly 18 months one time.

Caprice I've been playing trying to devarnish it...this time it's going to be 10,000km I promise...prolly 8 months I think.

I'm seriously thinking my next play might be pull 10-15% at 2,000km intervals through the dipstick.

Toyota 2.0 litre turbo engine driven to redline daily at 16psi boost. 15,000km or 12 months.

Rally car 2.0 litre engine 8600rpm fuel cut 19psi boost. Oil filter 12 months. Oil every 6months or 1,500 stage kilometres / test kilometres. The miles are not too specific. I would happily go 2,000 or 3,000 if circumstances made it difficult to change the oil.

My Honda and Subie get oil changes in the spring and fall. Each car is usually around 5-6k miles per OCI. If using Napa Platinum filters, I go 2-3 OCI's before I put a fresh filter on.

My Chevy truck burns a lot of oil. I keep her topped off with the drained oil from the Subie and Honda. I change the filter once a year. I top off with an occasional new quart of oil just to make me feel better. I usually drain the oil every year or two and start over with a fresh fill.

2014 Explorer = 10K OCI or very low percentage on iOLM with M1 AFE 0W-20.

Many years ago my neighbor ran his Chevy van on my waste oil. This thing went through oil like mad. He saved money and I recycled, win win for both of us!

I think I have it fairly simple. Both of the vehicles I drive have an engine oil life system.

So I basically use that, or-as the manual states, annually.

2012 Nissan Pathfinder 4.0 V6 28,000 miles. Mobil 1 5w30 every 6-7,000 or if I am towing my 5,000lb camper in the summer I change it out between 4-5,000. Fram Ultra filter and now I run the filter for two oil changes.

I've been sticking to roughly 5k mile intervals for my turbo Forester (synth 5W30).
Subaru recommended 7.5k intervals for my '14, but then changed to 6k miles for the '15 models without any apparent change in the engines...???

Every 5k on both a 2012 Civic and 2007 Camry, which are both daily drivers. PP for both, oil filter, and tire rotation each time (I think maximizing the life of good tires is the real money/performance-saver).

How does rotations extend the life of tires? Are they all different? What about directional tires?

I think I read TiredTrucker gets over 400'000 mileson his tires.

I follow the oil life monitor on all three of my cars, so with the Corvette it works out to about every 2 years and about 10 or 11,000 miles. With the Civic it works out to about every year and about 7000 miles. With the BMW it works out to about every year and about 14,000 miles.
