How often can I use Techron in my car?

According to what I heard, I am not supposed to use Techron more than twice in between oil changes. Is it true? Is it okay to use Techron every month? What will happen if I use too much Techron?

From the Chevron Techron website: "Techron® Concentrate Plus, Complete Fuel System Cleaner, is designed for gasoline carbureted or fuel injected spark ignition engines. To keep the entire fuel system clean, use Techron Concentrate Plus, Complete Fuel System Cleaner, every 3,000 miles (4,800 km) or at scheduled oil change intervals, not to exceed twice per oil change."

I have difficulty imagining an engine that would need more. Have been a Techron user since at least 1991.

My guess is Chevron wants to minimize (or remove) the possibility of the product contaminating the oil from running multiple applications during the same OCI. I would follow their suggestions..

If you have Chevron or Texaco gas stations in your area, no need to buy a bottle of Techron. Just make it your go-to gas stations.
I'm sure you would occasionally want a dedicated PEA cleaner with the UCL,Ethanol Protection, etc. Probably once or twice a year would sound about right.

I will not used more 2 per oil change or used 1 oz every 10 gallon gas maintenance dose only if I know I have heavy carbon deposits in my engine.

TL;DR you'll risk blowing your injector o-rings out. For more info, read this thread
I read through this thread and I'm not convinced at all that the fuel additives caused the problem but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. With that being said, I use Redline every 3,000mi and have done so for many years with no issues.
