How Many Years is Virgin Green Good For ??

Howdy,

I have a 1/4 left of an opened Prestone Green jug from "about" 5 - 7 years ago.

Is it still good ??

Can I pour it into a newer (in warranty) Polaris ATV that is low or do I need to buy a new jug ??

I discovered some green in the garage that had been there 10-15 years or so. I think it was Prestone. Used it up in my Metro a couple years ago; it's still in there actually. Haven't had any cooling problems yet.

You can test it with the test strips to make sure it's ok. Check with a local radiator shop. They should be able to test it for you.

I would say there is no problem with it being open for that period of time. One the other hand its 1 QT you have (if I read your post correctly) and I would just recycle that and by new AF. It likely that additives have improved in the past 5-7 years.

I think that I would just toss it out. For less than $10 bucks you can get a new (fresh) jug for that new and in warranty ATV. And, like Donald said, the newer stuff may be improved too.
