I've been using this oil for years now on my 86 toy. truck 22r.it leaks oil, and the oil seems to get black right away.

I used to use Super Tech oil filters until I found an Ecore with a hole in the media. I found another Ecore shortly there after that had a cage that wasn't molded all the way (short shot).
I've never used Super Tech engine oil, but I still use their Dexron III unlicensed ATF.

Im a big SuperTech fan boy for all their products. I use their filters, oil, and injector cleaner all the time. Ive got a 5qt of Super Tech 5w30 ready to go for here soon.

Not as much as I used to. AA/Purolator gets most of my filter business.
My timeline... started changing my own oil in 1999 with a white STP filter in a cardboard box with a little cellophane window so you could see the filter. $1.97 at walmart. Tech2000 at $.74/qt.
Year 2000, WM drops the STP line and six months later comes out with Super Tech filters with fram numbering (horrors) and purple boxes. Think some filters were purple too. This went on about six months then they got the sexy black filters in use to this day. (I liked peeling the labels off.) I ran NAPA silvers until the new WM stock came in and I was convinced they weren't frams, I think it was on USENET: rec.autos.tech!!!
Supertech oil bottles were pretty plain and dopey looking until XOM stepped in with their superflo-esque wide mouth bottles due to a supply shortage, I think this was in 03 or 04.
As others have said, one can get name brand synthetic on sale (and conventional as well) while Super Tech rarely goes below its reasonable price point.

In Canada we just received Supertech in the last couple years. We had tech-2000 before that. I posted a used oil analysis with the 0w30 synthetic Tech-200 and it did great on my old duratec Ranger. I've have used the filters with success as well.
i have used it on and off for over 10 years. mostly warren until last year all the stock around here changed to xom! mike

I just put Supertech 5w-20 into the wifes Yaris.
I have been using Super Tech oil for years to some degree.I use it in my mower and have used it in a GM car for many OCI's and miles.I have also used the Super Tech oil filters but since the switch to the E-Core version,I am not to thrilled with them and dont know if I will use them again.
The GM car has around 225,000 miles on it and quite a few of those miles were with Super Tech oil and it uses little if any oil and runs good.When you look thgrough the oil fill,it looks good,no sludge or anything.
I am planning on using Super Tech oil for my next oil change in a Ram truck.I will probably go with a filter from Auto Value Auto Parts,they are Affinia which is really a WIX made filter.
Since the switch to SN,I think that just about any oil will work and you wont have any problems,the base oils are really good these days and Super Tech is made by Warren,XOM and possibly Shell.While these oils may not be the same as the name brands that are made by these companies,they are far from junk.

Just made a mix of 4 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 and 2 Quarts of Advance Auto Full Synthetic Oil 5w30 on 3 of my neighbors cars. All vehicles now have over-sized Pure 1 Oil Filters and the Sumps allow for 6 Quarts of Oil.
IMO....The Walmart Super Tech Full Synthetic is the same as Advance Auto Full Synthetic Oil. So each car got a gallon of PP and 2 quarts of AAP 5w30. A good way to stretch out quality oils.

Ya know, I have used SuperTech conventional over the years with out issues. Although I haven't used it in a while, I would use it without hesitation.

This Super Tech Syn was SL/CF, ILSAC GF3 and approved for Corvette and ACEA something/something and for domestic/import vehicles that call for 5W30. It was also blended by WPP.
Does anyone remember this Super Tech syn 5W30?

Super Tech oil isn't as good of a bargain as it used to be, their prices are inching closer and closer to big brand oil.
Why buy Super Tech synthetic at $3.99, when PP is $4.29?

Advance Auto Synthetic was on salelastmonth for $3.49 and I bought 6 quarts to add to the gallons of PP or Valvoline Synthetic oils to bring the OCI up to 6 quarts. I thought it was a good deal by Advance since WalMart Super Tech Synthetic was $3.99. If I add 2 quarts to a gallon of premium oil....the deal is very good.

I must admit like you guys mention Super Tech oil ain't that much cheaper than the name brands.
