Currently have SN Plus Motorcraft Synthetic Blend 5W-20 in the 2017 Taurus. Have previously ran it in my Accord and way back in my 2007 Taurus. It performs well, however, I cannot say any of these engines have been hard on oil.
Marketing does its tricks for me with this. I like it because it says Ford, is referenced in the manual, is reasonably priced and easy to obtain (Walmart).

I have used Trop Arctic quite extensively in my Ranger and have been happy with it.
It has been said here that it is extremely similar to the MC.
It is probably my favorite "Sleeper" oil and IMO is quite the value when it can be had on sale anywhere from $1.69 to $1.99, depending on the sale at Orscheln's.
My only problem with it is local availability. I have to drive from the Columbus area to Richmond, In. to get it. I'll generally arrange a trip to the area to pick some up when it is on sale.
I have a brand new case of the Shield Choice that I haven't cracked open yet. Doubt that there will be any significant change in it, the change as far as I have heard amounts mostlyy to remarketing.

So far in my 2015 ford 2.7 I have run Pennzoil, Castrol, Valvoline high mile and M1 high mile and the engine is still running. The Wifes 2002 7.3 Superduty Mobile Chevron and Shell lubes and it is still running. Daughters 2010 ford Focus Chevron Supreme Castrol ,Valvoline hi mile and M1 High mile still running great . And my sons 2006 Toyota Tacoma with the 2.7 engine [I love that engine] 1 fill of Castrol and the rest M 1. Still running good. A late thought
I run Motorcraft 5w20 blend in the wife’s Edge. Sometimes the 5w30 in my truck. No issues in either vehicle but they are not oil burners. In the past I have experienced more consumption using Motorcraft than other oils on a vehicle that is using oil already.
5W30 Motorcraft semi/syn in my 2016 2.7 EcoBoost F150.

+1 I have MC Blend 5W20 which I use for topping off oil between changes - one of the better blends I believe at around 40% synthetic .

I use Shield Choice in our Chevrolet Equinox.
I ran motorcraft oil and filter for a while when car was new
I no longer own a ford, but used MC only in my old 88 F150 and my old 79 cougar, as far as I know I never had any issues due to MC oil, used 10W40 and 10w40 I could have used something else I suppose but MC is easy to find and I like to stick to the same brand of oil for the most part. Now I no longer have any fords so I prefer TSC Travelers brand, but will use NAPA brand if the weight I need is out of stock. I have used 100% travelers conventional oil for at least the last 5-6 years. TSC has good prices. Not sure if motorcraft makes a conventional oil anymore. Most of what I have noticed in MC is semi synthetic or full synthetic. If I owned a ford again I would likely go with Ford motorcraft oil. I have never heard of Sheild choice oil.
