How many hours on lawn tractor oil ?

I never go more than 50 hours. My JD garden tractor has a Kawasaki V-Twin, which is known to last a long time. I'm pushing 20 years now, no issues.

A top of the line Craftsman will have a Kohler command engine. While your mower is working it will need attention in a few areas as it wears. Your steering gears will loosen up. The deck will need bearings soon. The transaxle fluid should be changed soon if not already. When the transaxle dies then the wife will allow a new mower. Stick with your oil change routine however 100 hour changes with Mobil1 are acceptable.

My John Deere D140 with the B&S 724cc V-Twin calls for 50 hour OCI. After four years, it has averaged 29 hours per year. For the sake of simplicity I just change both the oil and filter once per year. I used M1 10w-30 EP for the first four seasons, but will be changing to M1 10w-30 HM this Spring. Why? Because I have some. Enough said...

95 Craftsman 14 HP Briggs no filter motor I use it for mowing and plowing it gets 10-30 M1 for the summer and 5-30 M1 for winter. Other than some old age seepage it uses zero oil zero smoking. Only issue with that motor has been every 10 years needle seat starts to seep gas thru when parked.
