How many checks do you write in a month?

Anyone still use checks?

I write about 6 a month. The few financial institutions who I write and mail them to do not have easy to use or timely ACH or CC payment portals online.

But their interest rates/terms are super sweet. So I write checks and mail them out.

...And scan a one page copy of the check with statement/payment coupon and file it as a PDF stored on a RAID-6 NAS.

About the same. I deal with some folks and one water utility who want payment by check, so I comply. I pay all my property taxes by check also, since that is the cheapest way to pay. Don't see that changing.

Probably about five a year. Never use a check register, since almost everything is real time. The other retro thing that drives me crazy is when they ask me if I want to buy stamps at Costco.

I don't like giving automatic debit access to my account and I have several bills that will charge a "convenience fee" for anything other than a check (and cash is not an option). Plus it's nice to have a copy of the check.

I'm old school. Still chisel the checks out of pieces of slate. Now get off my lawn!

I pay all my bills online except for one. The power company doesn't do online payment, so I have to write one check a month. They do have a drive thru window, so I don't have to use a stamp.

Never. if it needs to be paid by check i just do it online and the place sends a check to the person. they even pay the postage .

I usually write about 3 or 4 checks a month. There's a couple places that doesn't have online bill paying services, and one that has a process that's so ridiculously difficult to get over and through all of the hoops and hurdles that it's just easier to mail a check...

This. I write perhaps one or two checks a year, if that.

My bank does online banking. They usually submit payments electronically, but for those billers and/or people that don't accept electronic payments, my bank will send them a check, AND pay for the postage to get there. So that saves me the cost of a check, an envelope, and a stamp. I much prefer free, so that is the way to go.

Surprisingly, quite a few. Most contractors I dealt with prefer cheques.
