How do you keep the inside of your vehicle clean?

We have a big metal dumpster at home. It's only like $4 more a month than a can. Everything goes in that.

will they show up at a residential address? I hear a garbage truck show up at like 5am every so often and finally figure out it was like 7 houses down when I drove by I saw the green waste management dumpster. Not even sure how they do that as we have ameriwaste here. I bet the city wouldn't allow that unless it was zoned commercial.

Short answer: don't have kids. :D I remember giving a coworker a ride home once and when she got in the car she said "I can tell you don't have children because the car is too clean."

As for my day-to-day, I hang one of the plastic bags from Wal-Mart/Meijer/Menards off of the glovebox and when it fills up, I chuck it into the garbage can at home. If it's anything food-related, that bypasses the garbage bag and gets tossed as soon as I get home. Don't want to attract rodents from the food smell.
Should have married that one. All the girls that get in my car complain about how dirty it is.

When I get out of the car at home, work, a gas station, if there’s a wrapper I grab it and throw it away.

I also go to the car wash 1x-2x a week, while there I quickly vacuum and wipe off the water drops. Use the wet microfiber towel to wipe off anything dusty. But being it’s every week, there’s not much of anything that builds up.

I would have if she wasn't already spoken for...

One other thing I forgot, when I was commuting into Chicago, I'd keep a box of Swiffer Dusters in the car and on days when the train was late and I had to wait for the parking lot to clear out, I'd dust off the dashboard and vents. Now that I work from home, the dashboard has gotten dustier than I'd like.

My vehicles aren't used for commuting, so trash generally doesn't accumulate in them.

On road trips, the rental car get's an allocated "trash bag" that collects everything.

No kids
Vacuum cars weekly
The only real trash I have is a bottle or a cup, I have a trash can at home or at work so that’s it.

No eating in car is allowed, water bottle or travel mug are ok, used tissues go into door pockets and get disposed of during fueling, hands need to be clean a shoes/clothing as clean as reasonable. Bags, backpacks etc go into trunk. No licking glass from inside :D and covering your mouth when sneezing. Vacuum, and wet/dry wipe down of interior when I feel like it. I keep box of tissues inside cabin and paper/shop towels in trunk.

Yep.

And I remove the trash from my car every day.

I don’t see why the OP can’t remove the trash from his car every day, and then, perhaps, vacuum it out every couple of weeks.

Maybe then the girls who get in his car wouldn’t object to the mess.

I get the truck dirty weekly and can’t stand it. The mess bothers me - dirt and dust everywhere. So pretty much twice a month I pull the trash out of the door pockets and hit up the whole thing with the gas powered leaf blower. I learned to get rid of the trash first or else I have to chase it down the yard. Leaf blower makes quick work of front and back seats.

Compressed air is nice too, but the leaf blower is faster. I don’t need it museum clean, but I need it pretty clean.

Haven't heard of that one.

Like other people have said, I take every item of trash everytime I get out. I dont like to “break the seal.”. Same with leaving dirty dishes in the sink overnight at home. I like my car to look the same inside everytime I get in it. anytime I take my sister‘s car into the shop for her its always like an extra 30 minute ordeal because I have to clean all of the trash out out of it in a lot of times vacuum it before I can even ethically bring it to the garage.

They do here. That's the last stretch of the dirt road to my house he also drives to other houses in my neighborhood .

Originally they were bringing a flat bed every week and exchanging an empty for a full. They had 6 or so bins on the flatbed and a couple of guys to load them onto the lift on the rear of the truck.

That was a lot of work to move them on dirt ,rocks or sand. Having just 1 guy in the big truck is more efficient I'm sure.

I never leave junk, garbage, trash in my car. I throw it out ( if I order take out coffee going to work ) at the end of the day at home or when I refuel after commuting back from work.

I clean/ detail my own cars twice a year ( spring and late fall ) and don’t let the inside get dirty between.

I don’t care about the outside anymore.
