How do you dispose of your used oil bottles?

I like to incinerate stuff as much as possible, but I draw the line on plastic. It's too hard on the air. It was easy when containers were cardboard.

Fill them full of water and they make great targets.

Castrol bottles are the best.

Once I'm done, pick them up and throw away in the trash.

I have a wood burning insert burning 24/7 from late October until May sometimes. I burn my fair share of paper, cardboard, junk mail, etc. Never plastic, or any kind of treated or painted wood, its just not good to do.

Oil bottles are HDPE, just a higher molecular weight form of natural gas, gasoline, diesel, dino, and wax. It should burn clean if it has enough air, better than paper or cardboard. Styrene including styrofoam should burn clean, but in a trash fire, lacks oxygen and produces stinky, polluting, eye stinging styrene. Never burn vinyl.
